Cold Feet to air in September

John Thomson has revealed the new series of ‘Cold Feet’ will begin in September.
The drama returned to ITV in 2016 after a 13-year absence and fans will not have to wait much longer for the next chapter in the lives of Adam, David, Karen, Pete and Jenny – played by James Nesbitt, Robert Bathurst, Hermione Norris, John and Fay Ripley respectively.
During an appearance on ‘Loose Women’ on Monday (12.06.17), he said: "The official launch of the next series is September 11."
Not much is known about what fans can expect to see in the upcoming series except that the creator Mike Bullen will be once again be plotting what the main cast will have to deal with, whilst maintain their friendships and romantic relationships.
Thomson, 48, admits he was very worried about the show – which began in 1997 – coming back as he had no idea whether fans would respond to the characters in the same way, but he was delighted with the reaction.
He said: "It could have been a car crash. I was terrified. We went out with guns blazing with the storylines. The pacing of it was brilliant. I like to play the straight stuff which is out of my comfort zone."
Among the tough topics that have been tackled on the show include divorce, depression and infidelity.
John’s character Pete Gifford was written specifically for him after his performance in ‘The Perfect Match’.
