Princess Anne to visit historic mill in Bradford

Princess Anne is to visit a textile house in Bradford that produces fabric for some of the world’s best known designers.
The British royal is to pay a special visit to Stanley Mills Weavers and Luxury Fabrics Ltd on June 28, when she will see for herself the impact of a recent £1.2 million investment in weaving machinery.
The firm provides materials for some of the fashion industry’s most recognisable brands, including Louis Vuitton, Prada and Christian Dior
Princess Anne’s visit will also incorporate the royal unveiling a plaque celebrating the textile house’s success, as well as the recent investment in the venture.
According to Meryl Birch, Managing Director of Stanley Mills Weavers, the most-recent investment in the firm will help to secure the historic mill’s long-term future.
She said: "Through ongoing improvements in facilities and training we are reinforcing our strong reputation in international markets and keeping Yorkshire and its regional textile heritage on the global fashion map."
David Gallimore, Managing Director of Luxury Fabrics, admitted he was excited by the prospect of Princess Anne visiting the historic mill.
He said, according to the Telegraph and Argus newspaper: "We are extremely excited about The Princess Royal’s visit as it recognises the business has developed and been successful internationally around the world.
"Princess Anne has always supported the UK fashion and textile industry and we are looking forward to her coming to look at our business and to meeting our staff."
