Prince Harry holds charity polo event

Prince Harry has taken part in a charity polo event in Singapore to raise money for a HIV charity.
The 32-year-old royal has been on a tour of the small Asian island since the weekend, and on Monday (05.06.17) he participated in the Sentebale Royal Salute Polo Cup, which was be hosted at the Singapore Polo Club, to help raise awareness and funds for the Sentebale charity that supports those suffering from HIV in Lesotho and Botswana.
Prince Harry was aiming to raise around £1 million for the charity at the event, where he was joined by the likes of former ‘Doctor Who’ star Karen Gillan, ‘Humans’ actress Gemma Chan, and ‘Downton Abbey’ star Joanne Froggatt.
The flame-haired royal also said aimed to give young people the "voice they deserve" when it comes to the awareness of HIV and AIDs, as he said a large part of ending the epidemic was in "tackling the stigma" surrounding the disease.
Writing in the official programme for the Sentebale Polo Cup with his charity co-founder Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, Harry said: "In the past year we have expanded operations into Botswana, addressing the pressing needs of the country with the world’s third-highest HIV prevalence.
"We will continue to support the global commitment to ending the Aids epidemic by 2030. We believe that we cannot beat HIV without giving children and adolescents the voice they deserve.
"It is our ambition to change the tide of this epidemic by ensuring more young people know their status, access treatment and are empowered to tackle stigma and play their part in bringing the Aids epidemic to an end."
Elsewhere during his trip, Prince Harry visited a 21-year-old charity worker named Alibi Mohdar, who was taking a finger-prick test for HIV which fortunately told him he was negative.
Prince Harry told Alibi, who works for Action for Aids: "What you’re doing is really important. It’s better to know your status than not."
