Britain’s Got Talent judges don’t speak to contestants

The ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judges "never" speak to the contestants.
While the four panellists and presenters Ant and Dec each award an act a pass to the live shows via their Golden Buzzers, Amanda Holden insists that doesn’t mean they treat their favourite auditionees any differently to the others.
She said: "We never speak to the contestants after the auditions.
"I spoke to him on stage and that was it.
"I think it’s important not to have any influence or treat them differently just because they are Golden Buzzer acts."
This year, Amanda used her buzzer to cast a vote for Daliso Chapondra, and her decision to opt for the comedian was a nod back to her own background.
She explained: "I hadn’t heard his jokes before and I thought the way he delivered them was smart and clever.
"Obviously he will have to come up with some smart new gags for the live shows.
"It’s different to the acts I normally go for but everyone loves comedy and I started out in comedy. I think people forget that I was in sketches with Simon Pegg, and so I thought it would be nice to choose an act from where I first started rather than musical theatre."
Though the 46-year-old actress’ husband, Chris Hughes, rarely attends the programme’s live shows, he’s always quick to give his wife his verdict on her fashion choices for the evening, and isn’t afraid to be honest.
She told HELLO! magazine:" Sometimes he comes, but he prefers to watch with a beer at home. He texts me and when I sit down at my desk, the first thing I do is look to see if he has given me a thumbs up for my outfit or a thumbs down.
"Sometimes he has something to say!"
