Prince Harry surprises England Women Rugby’s Red Roses

Prince Harry surprised the England Women Rugby team Red Roses at Army Rugby Stadium in Aldershot on Thursday (11.05.17).
The 32-year-old royal, who is a patron of the Rugby Football Union, watched the squad train in preparation for the forthcoming New Zealand and Women’s Rugby Women’s World Cup, which is to take place this summer.
The Red Roses were made up with the flame-haired hunk’s trip as he gave the team a confidence "boost" and presented Six Nations medals to those who weren’t able to partake in the Ireland game.
Sarah Hunter, the captain of the ladies team, said: "It’s a massive boost for the squad to see Prince Harry take an interest in us.
"He’s very passionate about his rugby and for him to come and support the women’s team is fantastic.
"It’s a morale boost for the players and the lift we need after a few weeks of tough training.
"Some of the reactions to the medals were pretty special, you couldn’t ask for more than Prince Harry taking time out of his busy schedule to present them and wish us well for the next few months."
The sport is both very close to Harry’s heart and a reminder of dark times, he recently did a documentary called ‘Beyond The Tryline, where he opened up about people seeing him as someone to "smash up" on the rugby field at school.
Harry said he had violent experiences playing the ball game as a youngster and people would specifically target him.
He admitted: "People would see me on the rugby field as an opportunity to smash me up and actually there was people in my own school during inter-house rugby competitions that would be me up, not beat me up but would put in bigger tackles because it was me. But certainly in school inter-house is where I got injured the most."
