Mel and Sue ‘eyed to present The Generation Game’

Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins are reportedly being lined up to present ‘The Generation Game’.
The TV duo – who starred on ‘The Great British Bake Off’ – are being eyed to front the classic game show, which was previously hosted by Sir Bruce Forsyth.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Mel and Sue are seen as exactly what this classic show needs. They were seen as a perfect replacement."
The job opportunity apparently served as a key part of the BBC’s ploy to keep the popular pair at the corporation, rather than following the ‘Bake Off’ to Channel 4.
Earlier this month, meanwhile, Mel claimed that ‘The Great British Bake Off’ will be "better" now it has moved channels.
The 48-year-old presenter is "sad" that she is no longer associated with the programme, but she is convinced it’ll be different now that Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding are to front the revamped version.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz, she said: "People have been very very lovely and very kind. You know it’s a sad thing but we had seven incredible years and seven years is a long time in showbiz that’s about one hundred and fifty two years.
"Sue and I were given an amazing gift and we loved it and hopefully we’ve passed it on in a good way. We were in touch with Noel [when he was approached for the job]. I passed him the seeded baton. It will be different and better. But if it’s better I’ll be livid."
