The Duchess of Cambridge has a ‘surprising lack of vanity’

The Duchess of Cambridge has a "surprising lack of vanity".
The 35-year-old royal was photographed in the Norfolk countryside for her cover shoot with British Vogue magazine in June last year to celebrate the publication’s 100th anniversary, and the Editor in Chief, Alexandra Shulman, has revealed Duchess Catherine was very down to earth as she didn’t want to adorn uber glamorous ball gowns or bejewelled accessories for the shoot.
Speaking about Catherine – who has three-year-old son Prince George and two-year-old Princess Charlotte with her husband Prince William – and her style choices on Vogue Online, Alexandra said: "She didn’t want to be dressed as a fashion plate and was not keen to be shot in gala gowns and tiaras.
"Most of us would need constant reassurance, whereas she demonstrated none of these neuroses, which showed an admirable and surprising lack of vanity."
And the brunette beauty – who was photographed by Josh Ollins – "scarcely" looked at herself in the mirror during the shoot, not even to grab a quick glance of her laid-back yet smart ensemble, which saw her adorn a crisp white shirt, earthy brown blazer and forest green hat.
Speaking about Catherine – who was formerly known as Kate Middleton prior to marrying Prince William – and her behaviour on the day, Alexandra continued: "[Catherine] scarcely even checking herself in the mirror afterwards."
