The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge congratulate London Marathon runners after race

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge congratulated London Marathon runners at the finish line on Sunday (23.04.17).
Prince William and his wife Catherine – who have three-year-old son Prince George and 23-month-old daughter Princess Charlotte together – showed their support to the athletes who took part in the annual event, which saw people run 26.2 miles, by cheering on the competitors along the course, and handing out medals at the end of the race.
The Kensington Palace Instagram account shared images of the couple at the event yesterday, and shared pictures of them on the sideline shaking hands with runners as they crossed the finish line.
One post read: "The Duke, Duchess and Prince Harry congratulate those who took part in the 37th #LondonMarathon – many wearing #TeamHeadsTogether headbands.
@heads_together is the official charity of the Marathon.
Their Royal Highnesses have spearheaded the #headstogether campaign, as part of The Royal Foundation, to try to reduce the stigma around mental health.
The #OkToSay campaign encourages people to have conversations to help change people’s lives (sic)."
The photo-sharing site also uploaded a video of the 34-year-old royal, his 35-year-old partner and 32-year-old Prince Harry.
The clip was captioned: "At the #LondonMarathon finish line Their Royal Highnesses handed out medals to those who have completed the run. #Teamheadstogether (sic)."
However, medals were not the only thing the couple handed out as they also distributed bottles of water to the runners at Mile 22.
An image of Catherine reaching out to the racers read: "The Duchess of Cambridge hands out water bottles to @LondonMarathon runners at Mile 22.
"Around 40,000 people have taken part in the 26.2 mile race today. Some runners are wearing @heads_together headbands in support of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry’s campaign to end stigma surrounding mental health. Heads Together was honoured to be chosen as the official London Marathon charity 2017 (sic)."
