Steven Moffat wants another series of Class

Steven Moffat has teased that the ‘Doctor Who’ spin-off ‘Class’ may make a return.
The children’s show, which follows a group of teenagers at a school in London where the Time Lord’s former companion Clara Oswald, played by Jenna Coleman, worked, was rumoured to have been given the axe but the programme’s writer has admitted he’d love nothing more than to pen a few more series in the future.
Speaking to the audience at the launch of the latest series of the main show ‘Doctor Who,’ Moffat said: "We don’t know right now – we would love to get more ‘Class’ made. We’re in a different world now, for how television works, especially when our channel is basically online. Wait and see what’s going to happen.
"Now the Weeping Angels cannot be allowed to win can they?"
The first series of the spin-off left fans with a cliffhanger after the fan-favourite villains from the main programme the Weeping Angels plotted world domination inside the school.
The first episode got one million viewers but by the end it had dropped to 300,000.
‘Class’ starred Katherine Kelly, Greg Austin, Sophie Hopkins, Vivian Oparah and Fady Elsayed and is currently airing in the US.
Steven said: "It’s a great show. If you haven’t seen ‘Class’ you really need to and watch it – it’s absolutely terrific.
"A lovely, lovely cast, fantastic jokes. And Weeping Angels at the end – which is a fantastic surprise if you haven’t been told already by a fat old man."
‘Class’ is the fourth TV spinoff from ‘Doctor Who’ following ‘K9 and Company’ in 1981 and ‘Torchwood’ and ‘The Sarah Jane Adventures’.
Before the first series was aired it was already lined up to have a second penned by creator Patrick Ness.
Patrick previously said: "I can’t wait for people to meet the heroes of ‘Class’, to meet the all-new villains and aliens, to remember that the horrors of the darkest corners of existence are just about on par with having to pass your A-Levels."
