Slash to play virtual reality gig at Los Angeles Zoo

Slash is to play a virtual reality gig at Los Angeles Zoo.
The Guns N’ Roses guitarist will be joined by ‘School of Rock’ star Jack Black and musicians including Grace Potter and Bernard Fowler, who has provided backing vocals for The Rolling Stones since 1988, at the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association’s 2017 Beastly Ball on May 20.
The ball is put on to raise money for a brand new attraction, the Species Conservation Action Network and to help battle global conservation issues.
On his involvement and as a trustee, the ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ hitmaker said: "I’m honoured and proud to be a part of the L.A. Zoo’s 50th Anniversary Beastly Ball. It’s going to be the biggest yet, and I’m really looking forward to jamming live with some good friends."
According to Billboard, fans will be able to watch the VR event and have access to an exclusive chat with the 51-year-old guitar god by accessing a live stream on City Private Pass.
Slash, an avid animal activist – who owns a number of reptiles – will perform songs for fans, who will be able to watch through Google Daydream or a Samsung Gear VR headset with a compatible smartphone.
The event is a collaboration with Citi, Live Nation and NextVR.
Jennifer Breithaupt, the managing director, media, advertising and global entertainment at Citi said: "With our friends at Live Nation and Next VR, we continue to push the boundaries in the music space to bring fans unprecedented access beyond attendance.
"With virtual reality, we can bring fans in for an unparalleled experience with their favourite artists and we couldn’t be more excited to kick off our concert series with Slash and friends."
