Gifty Louise terrified by Derren Brown’s Thorpe Park Ghost Train

Gifty Louise is ‘never’ going on the Derren Brown Ghost Train at Thorpe Park again.
The 2016 ‘X Factor’ contestant headed to the British theme park on Thursday night (30.03.17) to experience the revamped Derren Brown’s Ghost Train: Rise of the Demon – which has a new terrifying journey added to the experience – along with singers Jake Bugg, Alesha Dixon, McFly’s Danny Jones, actor Nicholas Hoult, ‘Geordie Shore’ star Marnie Simpson and Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
BANG Showbiz was on the ride at the exact same time as the star and were stood next to her when the ordeal got too much.
After the ride Gifty took to Twitter to tell fans of her terror, she said: "The new Ghost Trade ride at Thorpe Park is something else. I don’t wanna spoil it for you but know that you will s**t yourself."
And when BANG Showbiz contacted her to recall the moment of fear and in support of her comments over the ride’s fear factor, Gifty replied: "I’m never going on it again!".
As the room plunged into darkness ahead of the terror that was about to unfold, without exposing the ride’s secrets, Gifty could be heard screaming and begging for it to end as she forced herself into a corner of the room, whilst her friends – who were just as terrified – grabbed the nearest people and pulled them close to her in a big tight huddle whilst screaming in terror before making an apology, saying: "I’m sorry for whoever I just grabbed."
The ride is a 15 minute journey that starts on a suspended 20 tonne Victorian Carriage. Upon boarding the train, you step into a modern day tube carriage and put on a VR headset to start your journey. The ride features live action, virtual reality, grand illusion, special effects and ride movement. And new for 2017, Thorpe Park has upped the ante, introducing more scare actors, a secret room, and a new realistic VR journey.
Some celebrities like McFly singer-and-guitarist Danny Jones came prepared.
He said: "Anything Derren does scares me, I know he can play with my mind and I know my brain is susceptible to be powered by him – let’s just say I’m glad I’ve brought a change of underwear."
Award winning music producer Naughty Boy said: "I was scared the last time, I convinced myself I wasn’t in virtual reality and that it was real life – it was sick!"
Speaking before trying the ride, Bianca Gascoigne couldn’t wait to give it a go, saying: "The whole Derren Brown thing I’m absolutely amazed by it, I love his work so I’m really, really looking forward to going in!"
Thorpe Park Resort is open for the full season from now until November 1, 2017. Brave iconic rides such as the UK’s first winged rollercoaster The Swarm, Saw – The Ride, the world’s first horror movie themed rollercoaster, Stealth, one of Europe’s fastest and tallest roller coasters and Colossus, the world’s first ten inversion rollercoaster, as well as attractions such as Rush, the world’s largest Speed Swing.
Visitors can buy one day tickets from Thorpepark.com/terms-conditions/ to the resort from £27.99.
