Stormzy gets the first Deliveroo Gold Card

Stormzy has been given the first ever Deliveroo Gold Card.
The 23-year-old grime artist took to social media to announce he had been handed the special card, which allows him free food from the delivery service for an entire year.
He said in a video message: "What’s going on people, it’s Stormzy here. In my right [hand], I have a phenomenal card …
"This is a very serious thing here; this is a gold card from Deliveroo – thank you to Deliveroo as well – and this gives you the opportunity to get free food on Deliveroo for a year."
Before adding in a series of tweets: "The game has changed forever. The very 1st Deliveroo Gold Card. Bruddah. I am gassed … it’s a glorious occasion (sic)"
Stormzy unveiled his debut album ‘Gang Signs & Prayer’ to much critical acclaim in February 2017.
However, there was one person he was nervous about hearing his new tracks – his mother.
He confessed: "My mum ain’t heard it, she will listen when it comes out. I think there’s going to be a few tunes where my mum is thinking, ‘I don’t care who Stormzy is that is not a good thing, why you saying that son?’ But I think there will be some things she can be proud of, it’s meaningful and from the soul."
And Stormzy feels he has a "duty" to reveal his "own truths" in his music.
He added: "The reason why we speak about, like, these things [such as crime], because these are things that go on in our communities, so we’re just being social commentators basically. But I feel like that is such a far-fetched statement.
"So every time I write a lyric or I make music, I firstly I’ve got, I have the responsibility and the duty to tell my own truths. Like firstly, so whatever that is, whether that’s something positive or negative, I need to tell my own truths.
"Secondly, now that I’ve progressed to a certain stage, I try to be more careful, but I don’t like to just like put some censor and say OK I’m not going to say that, because everything I talk about is truth, it’s things that I’ve done in the past or things that my friends have done, or things that we were immersed in, like so I have a responsibility to tell my own truth."
