Ricky Wilson: I’ll return to Voice if Kylie does

Ricky Wilson says he’ll return to ‘The Voice’ – if Kylie Minogue does.

The pint-sized popstar is set to leave the BBC One singing competition after just one series because of her upcoming ‘Kiss Me Once’ tour, but the Kaiser Chiefs frontman says he signed up for the show to work with Kylie and would be bitterly disappointed if she didn’t return.

He told The Sun newspaper: "We have known each other for such a long time.

"She is one of the reasons why I did it and one of the reasons why I’d stay. People like the show — they like the chemistry."

BBC bosses are desperately trying to lure Kylie, 45, back for the next series of ‘The Voice’ after she threw plans into disarray by announcing her intention to leave the show.

The blind auditions for the fourth series would begin filming in November, but Kylie will be touring at the time.

She said: "I’m touring later this year and the timings wouldn’t work.

"We started filming in November last year and I’m on tour in September, October and November this year … I have loved doing the show although there have been parts that have been really emotional."

But a BBC spokesperson stressed the corporation is willing to accommodate Kylie’s schedule in order to secure her services.

They said: "We are aware of Kylie’s commitments and are looking to accommodate them."
