Strictly Come Dancing’s Anton Du Beke given screen test to replace Len Goodman

Anton Du Beke has been offered a screen test to replace Len Goodman on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 50-year-old professional dancer could soon be packing away his dancing shoes and donning a suit if he passes his audition on the judging panel and TV executives offer him the vacant job.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Everyone loves Anton and he has been one of the favourites for the job because of his seniority and for being on the show since it started.
"He would be like a younger Len and the transition would definitely be a smooth one. They’ve obviously not ruled out other people but it’s a good sign for Anton."
It’s likely ‘Strictly…’ bosses will promote Bruno Tonioli, 61, Darcey Bussell, 47, or Craig Revel Horwood, 51, to head judge and fill the spot left behind by the legendary choreographer.
Anton isn’t the only professional dancer being lined up for the role though, as Karen Hardy and Brendan Cole recently admitted they would "love" to bag the gig on the judging panel later this year.
Brendan told BANG Showbiz: "I would love his job. I don’t think there are many people who don’t want his job. It’s a fantastic job because you never get kicked off. It’s fantastic. The BBC will choose whoever is right for the show. I’m hoping that they’ll be considering me while making that decision."
Len, 72, left his position as the show’s head judge at the end of last year, and following months of speculation, host Tess Daly revealed fans don’t have too much longer to wait to find out who will be promoted to the role.
However, the blonde beauty – who fronts the show with Claudia Winkleman – admitted bosses have still not made their choice.
Tess said: "We don’t know [who is taking over]. There are a few people in the mix. It’s still under discussion. I’d imagine by the end of April we’ll have some news."
