Charli XCX announces mixtape release date

Charli XCX will release her new mixtape on Friday (10.03.17).
The 24-year-old singer has taken to Twitter to announce she is to drop the special project, entitled ‘Number 1 Angel’, later this week in a post which also debuted the mixtape’s cover art.
Posting the picture of he artwork to her social media account on Tuesday (07.03.17), the ‘After The Afterparty’ hitmaker wrote: "NUMBER 1 ANGEL THE MIXTAPE – FRIDAY MARCH 10TH (sic)"
Charli also took to Instagram to share the same image, where she revealed there would be a three-track premiere of the mixtape on UK radio station BBC Radio 1 during MistaJams’ radio show, which starts at 7pm.
She captioned the image: "NUMBER 1 ANGEL : THE MIXTAPE : OUT FRIDAY MARCH 10 : 3 TRACK PREMIERE TONIGHT ON BBC RADIO 1 WITH MISTA JAM : TUNE IN TONIGHT TO HEAR THE EXCLUSIVE. IM SO F***ING HAPPY THIS MIXTAPE IS NEARLY OUT. I’M SO PROUD OF THIS COLLECTION OF SONGS. ANGELS, THIS IS FOR YOU. I LOVE YOU ALL. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ETERNAL SUPPORT. ANGEL POWER (sic)"
The news comes after Charli recently revealed she has managed to secure the talent of Paris Hilton – who has become known for her DJ work – for the mixtape, after she said she had been inspired by ‘The Simple Life’ star.
She revealed: "I’ve been really inspired by Paris Hilton, small dogs and a glitter, luxe lifestyle. I’ve never met Paris before, but we were both at the amFAR Gala during the Cannes Film Festival this year. I was performing and I saw her singing along to my song and I freaked out. I’m such a fan and one of my favourite songs ever is ‘Stars Are Blind’ – it’s pop genius."
Charli’s mixtape is intended to be a treat for fans before her third studio LP is released in May.
