Scarlett Johansson: I will remain politically active

Scarlett Johansson wants to remain "politically active".
The 32-year-old actress – who was a headline speaker at the Women’s March in Washington shortly after the inauguration of President Donald Trump – has said she will continue to keep speaking out about political issues, as she was always "encouraged to be involved" when she was growing up.
She said: "I don’t plan on not using my voice any time soon. I’ve always been politically active. My parents … my grandmother always encouraged us to be involved."
And the ‘Ghost in the Shell’ star also acknowledged critics who have slammed celebrities for getting involved in political discourse.
Speaking to People on the Oscars red carpet in Los Angeles on Sunday night (26.02.17), she said: "You put yourself kinda out there and people will have something to say about it, and that’s OK."
And it isn’t just political issues that Scarlett – who has two-year-old daughter Rose with her estranged husband Romain Dauriac – actively voices her opinions on.
The ‘Ghost in the Shell’ star previously claimed monogamy is "unnatural" and said it is "a lot of work" to be in a relationship with just one person.
Scarlett – who was also previously married to Ryan Reynolds between 2008 and 2011 – said: "Well, with every gain there’s a loss, right? So that’s a loss. You have to choose a path. I think the idea of marriage is very romantic; it’s a beautiful idea, and the practice of it can be a very beautiful thing. I don’t think it’s natural to be a monogamous person. I might be skewered for that, but I think it’s work. It’s a lot of work.
"And the fact that it is such work for so many people – for everyone – the fact of that proves that it is not a natural thing. It’s something I have a lot of respect for and have participated in, but I think it definitely goes against some instinct to look beyond."
