Alfie Allen joins Predator

Alfie Allen has joined the cast of ‘Predator’.
The 30-year-old actor – who is most known for his portrayal of Theon Greyjoy in the hit HBO fantasy drama series ‘Game of Thrones’ – will take on the role of an as yet unnamed ex-Marine in the reboot of the popular sci-fi franchise.
Alfie’s casting announcement means he will join a star-studded line-up lead by ‘Logan’s Boyd Holbrook and rounded out by Jacob Tremblay, Sterling K. Brown, Keegan-Michael Key, Trevante Rhodes, Thomas Jane and Olivia Munn in the movie which will see them battle it out against the human-hunting creatures.
Boyd’s casting in the lead role comes after Benicio Del Toro was originally in talks for the role, but was forced to quit after scheduling conflicts made it impossible for him to continue as part of the cast.
Shane Black is taking on directorial duties for the picture, after having previously starred in the 1987 original as Rick Hawkins, who was the first to die at the hands of the titular character.
The original motion picture was directed by John McTiernan and starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as soldier Major Alan ‘Dutch’ Schaefer, who was hunted by an alien monster in the jungle along with his squad of commandos.
Meanwhile, Black has already revealed the main character’s name in his ‘Predator’ movie will be Quinn McKenna.
He said: "The hero of the film, the name I’ve given the guy, is Quinn McKenna. Quinn McKenna. Rolls off the tongue, doesn’t it?"
Joel Silver, John Davis and Lawrence Gordon will produce the film, which began filming in Vancouver on Monday (20.02.17).
‘Predator’ is scheduled for a February 2018 release date.
