Allison Williams thinks her job is ‘so weird’

Allison Williams thinks her job is "so weird".
The 28-year-old actress – who plays the role of Marnie Michaels in the HBO series – has described her career in the film and entertainment industry as very bizarre because she has had to film a number of sex scenes in the comedy drama and now doesn’t "bat an eyelid" at any of the racy parts she’s involved in.
Speaking to the Metro newspaper, the brunette beauty said: "I am so accustomed to sex scenes, having the weird distinction of having done the most on ‘Girls’, thank you very much.
"I consider them part of the job and, as long as I’m not fully naked, we’re cool and I’m down to do it. There are very few things I can read in a script that will make me bat an eyelid in terms of, ‘Hmm, I wonder if I really want to do that?’"
However, the Connecticut-born star felt "nervous" when she read in the script she had to pleasure herself on screen, which led her to seek advice from her co-star and writer Lena Dunham, who has been cast as Hannah Horvath in the programme.
Allison explained: "Before I filmed a scene where Marnie pleasures herself, I was nervous.
"Lena asked if I wanted to talk about it and we stepped into her dressing room. It was basically two girls pretending to masturbate. I thought ‘My job is so weird.’"
Although Allison has worked herself up over certain elements in the television show, she has admitted her hectic work life has saved her from a "spiral of anxiety" because it prevents her from wasting her spare time constantly worrying about not being interesting enough.
Speaking previously about her chaotic schedule and her frantic mind, she said: "The fact that I’m working on all these other things means that I’m not spending my spare time in a spiral of anxiety.
"It feels much better to work tirelessly on all these other things that are kind of unsolvable and thus deeply satisfying than to just sit somewhere and think, ‘How do I harden myself publicly? How do I make myself seem edgier when I truly lead an un-edgy life?’"
