Lady Gaga’s extravagance secured the Super Bowl half-time show

Lady Gaga thinks her over-the-top performances helped to secure her the Super Bowl half-time show.
The 30-year-old singer is set to star at the annual sporting occasion at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, on Sunday (05.02.17) and has promised to put on a performance to remember in front of a huge global TV audience.
She said: "There’s a lengthy process to go through, meeting with the NFL and sort of applying and discussing what you would do in the first place.
"I think that part of how they decide who is going to come and do the halftime show is based on our ideas and what we want to do. They were really excited about the show we wanted to put on.
"They’ve been super-supportive. They’ve been there every day at the rehearsal space with us and cheering me on as I rehearse. It’s been great."
Gaga has remained tight-lipped about the show she intends to put on, but rumours have been circulating for weeks that the Grammy-winning star was set to perform a high-flying stunt during the half-time show.
And Gaga has now revealed the idea originally came from her younger sister, Natali Germanotta.
The ‘Million Reasons’ hitmaker told Boston’s Mix 104.1 radio show ‘Karson & Kennedy’: "It was my sister.
"My sister was like, ‘I know, let’s suspend you in the air!’"
Meanwhile, Gaga is reportedly set to announce her world tour the day after her Super Bowl half-time show.
Gaga – whose real name is Stefani Germanotta – has toured six times before and has previously told fans they can expect more extravagant shows the next time she takes to the road.
She said back in October 2016: "What I would say to those who are terrified that I’ll never again embrace absurdity or the avant-garde is ‘think again’ because that is my favourite thing."
