Spencer Matthews didn’t read The Jump contract

Spencer Matthews didn’t read his contract before he signed up to ‘The Jump’.
The former ‘Made in Chelsea’ heartthrob knew the winter sports show would be a dangerous gig to take on when he was approached by bosses last year but has admitted he didn’t care about what his rights were and signed the form anyway.
Speaking to heat magazine, he said when asked if he read the contract before he scribbled on his contract: "There must be one with the show, but I didn’t really read the contract, I just signed it. If you break your leg, you break your leg.
"I think you can only blame yourself – you must be doing something wrong if you hurt yourself. I love my competitive sports and I’m not particularly worried about the injury factor. If you go skiing or snowboarding with friends, there’s just as much chance of getting injured. Just because lots of people got injured last year, it shouldn’t make any difference to our competition this year."
Last year’s show was responsible for a number of celebrities experiencing life-changing injuries as Beth Tweddle broke her back, ‘Made in Chelsea’ star Mark Francis Vandelli fractured his ankle and Rebecca Adlington dislocated her shoulder.
Despite the worrying amount of injuries sustained in the last series, bosses were given the go-ahead to do another installment this year because there were still loads of stars who were eager to sign up to the show when the idea was put forward.
Davina McCall – who hosts the programme – said recently: "It is coming back. I didn’t think we’d be able to get anybody on it but people still want to do it, which is great."
Lydia Bright, Vogue Williams, Caprice, Jake Quickenden, Josie Gibson and Amy Willerton are among the celebrities who have agreed to take part in the forthcoming series, which will return to Channel 4 next month, alongside Spencer.
