Eva Mendes gushes about Ryan Gosling

Eva Mendes says working with Ryan Gosling was the "most beautiful experience" she’s ever had.

The actress recently wrapped shooting her boyfriend’s upcoming directorial debut, ‘How to Catch a Monster,’ and praised him for creating a great environment on set.

She said: "It’s actually the most beautiful experience I’ve ever had working on a film.

"He really created the most beautiful, collaborate, creative atmosphere on set. I know I’m biased but I don’t think it’s just coming from me, he’s the best."

Rumours recently swirled that the couple, who began dating in 2011 after meeting on the set of the movie, ‘The Place Beyond the Pines’ and have always been notoriously private about their romance, had split but their relationship appears to be firmly back on track.

Asked if he ran a "tight ship" on set, Eva also told E! News: "It’s a perfect ship."

The brunette beauty celebrated her 40th birthday on March 5 and insists she is thrilled to have reached the milestone.

She said: "Oh I’m just so happy I’m here, the alternative would suck."

The actress launched the Eva Mendes for New York & Company Spring 2014 collection with a pop-up shop at The Beverly Centre in Los Angeles on Tuesday (18.02.14) and claims she doesn’t spend a lot of money on designer clothes.

She said: "I think when you grow up in a lower middle class family and you see your family struggling financially, for me anyway, I feel like I’m still that girl."
