Let It Shine to get second series?

Gary Barlow wants his talent show to get another series.
The 45-year-old singer-songwriter’s forthcoming project ‘Let It Shine’ will hit television screens this week as him and his showbiz friends attempt to find a five-piece boy band to play his band Take That in an upcoming musical of the same name.
And the hunk is hoping bosses at the BBC give him the go-ahead to create another installment later this year because he wants to search for the next successful girl group.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz, he said: "I’ve been thinking at this point, touch wood, I hope we get a stage two, and what that device may be I don’t know, but it will definitely be focused around bands again.
"The underlining message for this show is teenagers can live a very solidarity life with their games and their phones and I think what this show, it’s teaching people to work as a team, I would love to do something again with bands in the future."
And, although he’ll be filling the shoes of recently-departed show ‘The Voice’ – which has now moved across to ITV – Gary doesn’t feel the pressure competing against it and will be checking the viewing figures to see which show is winning the ratings war.
He said: "I know everyone will talk about that and I’m aware of it but, I think ‘The Voice’ will be the same as others, you put your head down, you concentrate on your TV show and make it as good as you can.
"Same with making records, if you need to see what Coldplay or One Direction are doing, you’re not focusing on your own project, you’ve got to be heads on shoulders in this, but I might check the day after."
