Larry Lamb: Ageing can be frightening

Larry Lamb finds ageing "frightening at times".
The 69-year-old actor says everything changed for him when he turned 65 and admits it was then he realised that the "clock had started ticking".
He said: "You suddenly realise that you’re not immortal anymore. One minute you’re mortal and then you suddenly realise that you’re not. The clock starts ticking, you get your pension and you know you’re heading towards the end.
"You never used to know where you were heading in life and then it all changes, You begin to feel like an old man and it’s frightening at times."
The ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’ star is now backing ‘Good Morning Britain’s 1 Million Minutes campaign, which helps support of their elderly neighbours in the run up to Christmas and has spoke of the importance of men being able to meet up and talk as well as women.
Speaking to hosts Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard on the early morning show, he said: "Once we’re all together, men probably talk more than women do. But it’s getting to that stage. We need to give them that little push."
Larry recently spent time in the Australian jungle and admits his experience helped him "appreciate" his family more.
Asked if his time on the show was how he expected it to be, he added: "Absolutely. To spend three weeks cooking on a fire and having to make sure everything’s ready and in order. And to live an ordered life in what are potentially chaotic circumstances, it’s done me the world of good. More than anything, it’s made me appreciate my family.
"To listen to the chat between everybody there about how they relate to their families. Wayne is a wonderful dad. And Jordan has been parented by amazing people. Those different familial situations I have become aware of with them has just made me understand how lucky I’ve been but just how much more I’ve got to do."
