Graham Norton’s big red chair segment gets spin-off

‘The Graham Norton Show’s big red chair segment is getting a spin-off.
The one-off special, titled ‘Graham Norton’s Big Red Chair’, will see the 53-year-old comedian look back on some of the best moments from the part of the show that sees him invite members of the public to sit in the chair and keep him and his celebrity guests entertained, or risk getting thrown out of the seat.
Graham will also give viewers a look behind the scenes of the programme and the origin of the segment on the BBC1 show.
In the meantime, fans of the programme will be able to tune on December 23 for the Christmas special of ‘The Graham Norton Show’.
The special will feature a whole host of stars, including Will Smith, Dame Helen Mirren and Naomie Harris, who will be talking all about their forthcoming film ‘Collateral Beauty’.
Martin Freeman will also be sitting on the sofa with the host for some festive fun and to chat all about the fourth season of ‘Sherlock’, in which he stars alongside Benedict Cumberbatch.
And singer Katie Melua will be providing some live music with a performance of her new song ‘The Little Swallow’.
Meanwhile, Graham previously admitted he hopes to retire before the age of 60, insisting he does not wish to hang on too long.
He said: "You want to get out when people are still watching your show.
"You don’t want it to be when people say: ‘That is still on, that is still a thing?’"
Graham added: "The thing no one wants is the inching backwards, where you’re kind of going: ‘Yes the cast of Towie can come on…’ That’s about retiring when you’re on top."
