Frankie Bridge is still shocked that her husband signed up for ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’
Former footballer Wayne Bridge won a legion of new fans with his appearance on the show but Frankie admitted she couldn’t believe it when he agreed to take part as he hates publicity.
She told Fabulous magazine: "It’s so weird!
"Ever since I met him, he’s always shied away from the media in his job. It’s been nice and I’ve always quite liked that. He was more nervous about the cameras than any of the animals or challenges, bless him.
"He’d always wanted to give it a go, but was going backwards and forwards for a few days after meeting the producers. I knew he just wanted someone to say: ‘Do it!’ so I was like: ‘What have you got to lose?’
"It’s weird because it’s more about him than us.
"I don’t know yet whether he’s now up for doing TV [appearances]. That’s up to him and I’m not fussed either way."
And his time on the show has won him a legion of new female fans.
Frankie said: "It’s weird because people normally don’t know much about him, and now I’m getting loads of messages from women saying: ‘You’re so lucky! Your husband is amazing!’"
