Yolanda Hadid defends Gigi from social media trolls

Yolanda Hadid has defended Gigi from social media trolls.
The 52-year-old American television personality – who is the mother of Gigi and Bella, 20 – has jumped to the defence of her eldest daughter, who received a string of negative comments from one Instagram user – – who is named ihategigihadid on the picture sharing website – after posting a picture of her in a campaign for Max Mara her account.
The 21-year-old captioned the post: "Color keeps us warm @maxmara #whitneybag #ad (sic)."
However, the upload led to one person’s sudden outburst, which saw them question the catwalk icon’s picture and accompanying caption.
Their post read: "Wtf (sic)."
This single comment then spiralled out of control when a number of Gigi supporters advised the user not to comment if they’re not a fan of the blonde beauty, and to claims people would report the social media troll on the site.
One user asked: "why do you go on her pics if u hate her (sic)."
To which they replied: "Mind your own business
"I could say what the f**k I want dumb b***h (sic)."
The ongoing tirade soon led to ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ star to step in to prevent any further offensive comments from the account, which saw her plead with the user to take their "powerless" energy elsewhere and to do something more productive with their time that will make people proud.
Yolanda wrote: "@ihategigihadid Your energy is powerless here so use it else where, better your life and try to make your parents proud. (sic)."
But this is not the first time Yolanda has proved herself as a protective and supportive parent to her brood, as she has posted a string of photos of her children to her social media account praising them for their work.
Alongside one image of Gigi when she received her International Model accolade at this year’s The Fashion Awards, which took place in London on Monday (05.12.16), she wrote: "Keep being you my love, I am so proud of the extraordinary person that you are and all that you have accomplished in the past 21 years. I love watching you grow and learn in this amazing journey. Congratulations on winning the "International Model of the Year" 2016 award by @britishfashioncouncil #KeepSmiling #KeepShining #ProudMommy (sic)."
