Louisa Johnson: It’s amazing Ed Sheeran is writing X Factor winners single

Louisa Johnson is convinced this year’s ‘The X Factor’ champion will have a "shot" at topping the charts if Ed Sheeran is writing the winner’s single.
The 18-year-old pop beauty won the ITV talent show in 2015 and wasn’t happy with her song choice of Bob Dylan’s ‘Forever Young’, but believes her predecessors will have better success if the ‘Thinking Out Loud’ hitmaker is to pen the track.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, she said: "I think that’s amazing I think that’s going to be really good for the contestants.
"He’s such a good songwriter as everyone knows and I think that everyone has a shot if he writes a song like that."
The ‘Tears’ hitmaker has tipped boy band 5 After Midnight – Kieran Alleyene, Nathan Lewis and Jordan Lee – to win the show this year because of their energy.
She said: "My favourite are 5 After Midnight."
And it seems the winner may just be in luck as bosses of the ITV show have reportedly reached out to Ed, 22, to guarantee a Christmas number one.
A source previously said: "Everything Ed does turns to gold. To have him write the winner’s song is huge and amazing news for this year’s winner.
"All the remaining contestants have heard the track and it works for the majority. They can’t believe potentially their first ever single will be written by Ed."
Although the acts are excited about the single, producers have already decided that Ed’s track won’t be used if boy band 5 After Midnight wins.
The insider explained: "The only chance his song won’t get used is if 5 After Midnight pull off a shock win. Then bosses might need to consider another one of their options."
Louisa was she surprised her song sold 39,000 copies and peaked at number nine in the charts.
She previously said: "I didn’t really gel with it that much, everyone knows it wasn’t the best song. I didn’t really like it, but it was just one of those things.
It got to a higher spot than I thought it was going to get."
The chart position resulted in Louisa being the first ‘X Factor’ winner in 12 years not to have their winner’s single at number one, unlike previous winner Ben Haenow who went straight to number one with ‘Something I Need’ in 2014.
