Matt Terry to sing with James Arthur on The X Factor

Matt Terry is to duet with James Arthur on ‘The X Factor’ this weekend.
The 28-year-old star had initially been lined up by the show’s boss Simon Cowell to sing with his act Emily Middlemas before she was eliminated from the show last weekend, but it seems bosses are still keen to have the former winner on the programme as he’s now been switched to perform with Nicole Scherzinger’s boy.
The collaboration will see James reunite with Nicole, who masterminded his triumph on the series in 2012, and could also boost Matt’s hopes of following in his footsteps.
Elsewhere, ‘X Factor’ front-runner Saara Aalto – mentored by Sharon Osbourne – and ‘American Idol’ star Adam Lambert are set to team up for Saturday’s (10.12.16) live show, while 5 After Midnight – Louis Walsh’s one remaining act – are being lined up to perform with The Weeknd, according to The Sun newspaper.
It has been confirmed, too, that all of this year’s finalists, including rapper Honey G, are set to return to the programme for a last group performance.
Meanwhile, Simon, who does not have any contestants left on the show, compared Matt’s on-stage performance at the weekend to a "butter-less sandwich."
Matt opened the show with a unique version of the traditional Christmas carol ‘Silent Night’ – but his performance failed to impress the outspoken music mogul.
Simon said: "I thought it was, um, nice. I thought it was a bit predictable. It was a little bit – until the end when you hit the high note – it was like having a sandwich without the butter."
Simon’s criticisms continued when Matt took to the stage later in the night to sing his second song, Jessie Ware’s ‘Say You Love Me’.
He said: "I really like you but I don’t think tonight’s been your best night. It sounded like the track had overtaken you. This, for me, was bland."
