Jennifer Aniston misses world of Friends before social media

Jennifer Aniston yearns for the world ‘Friends’ was set in – before the explosion of social media.
The 47-year-old actress starred as Rachel Green for 10 years in the US sitcom set in the 90s about six pals which became a global TV phenomenon.
Many of the show’s scenes were set in New York City coffee shop Central Perk and focused on Rachel chatting to her friends – Monica Geller (Courteney Cox), Ross Geller (David Schwimmer), Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry), Joey Tribiani (Matt LeBlanc) and Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow) – and Aniston admits she misses that decade when people weren’t constantly staring at their smart phones and actually took the time to talk to one another.
When asked about the possibility of a ‘Friends’ ever happening, she mused: "Honestly I don’t know what we would do, I think that period of time was nostalgic, our faces weren’t stuffed into cell phones, we weren’t checking Facebook and Instagram, we were in a room together, we were in a coffee shop talking having conversations, we have lost that."
Aniston – who is married to actor-and-screenwriter Justin Theroux – has been vocal in recent times about the need for women to support each other in all walks of life.
And the ‘Office Christmas Party’ star hopes one change that will happen in Western society is that the b****ing and judging between females will stop.
Speaking on UK TV show ‘Lorraine’, she said: "We’re seeing women through that very narrow lens of what we’re reduced down to … if we don’t have a baby, or white picket fence, or a husband then we’re useless and we aren’t living up to our purpose … Women need to be (kinder), it’s true … It’s shocking to me that we’re not changing the conversation [as women] in support, we’ve come so far."
