Hollie Cook ‘bonds over music’ with godfather Boy George

Sex Pistol’s drummer Paul Cook’s daughter "bonds" with Boy George over music.
Hollie Cook has opened up about her relationship with the ‘Karma Chameleon’ hitmaker – who is her godfather – and while he wasn’t around when she was growing up in the 80s, because of his battle with drug addiction, the pair are much closer now that the 55-year-old Culture Club singer is a "clean healthy living human" and he’s been very "supportive" of her career.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, Hollie said of their relationship: "I was aware of who he was and who Culture Club were and I thought that was cool but no [we weren’t close] not growing up. He’s been supportive and helpful since my own music venture."
Asked if they have a strong bond, she added: "We do more so now. He wasn’t around when I was a kid.
"It’s well known he had his own struggles but these days he’s a clean healthy living human and we have music to bond over."
Hollie recently teamed up with Absolut Elyx and Water For People for a special live performance at Sanctum Hotel in Soho, London on Thursday (24.11.16) and for a vinyl recording with all proceeds going to the charity, which helps bring access to safe water to over 100,000 people globally.
Asked how she came to work with Absolut Elyx and Water For People, she explained: "I recently did a photo shoot for Jocks & Nerds with photographer Dean Chalkley and they put me forward to work on the Elyx Invites series. It’s a series of events that highlight the five-year partnership between Absolut Elyx and Water For People, aiming to raise money to provide clean water around the world."
