Olly Murs: I’m too well known to go to the cinema

Olly Murs can’t go to the cinema any more because he gets recognised.
The 32-year-old singer was the runner up on UK talent competition ‘The X Factor’ in 2009, and says he’s too famous to go to the cinema, even though it’s his "favourite thing to do".
Asked what he’d spend £24 on, the ‘You Don’t Know Love’ singer told Top of the Pops magazine: "I’d go and watch a sci-fi film, like the new Star Wars one coming out next year. I don’t get to go to the cinema much any more, but it’s one of my absolutely favourite things to do. I’d definitely get some cheesy nachos and a great big bag of pick ‘n’ mix, too."
And chances are the ‘Heart Skips a Beat’ hitmaker would take his nephew with him to see the upcoming blockbuster, as he says he’s "always thinking about" his sister’s son.
He said: "I’m always thinking about my nephew, Louie, and wondering what he’s up to. My sister sent me a video of him at a mic stand holding a guitar singing ‘You Don’t Know Love’ the other day and it’s the cutest thing ever. I’m obsessed with him."
The singer – who was asked a range of questions by the publication around the theme of the number 24, to celebrate the upcoming release of his new album ’24hrs’ – also explained how a decision to go backpacking in Australia when he was 24 ended with him auditioning for ‘The X Factor’.
He explained: "I backpacked around Australia for four months, which was amazing. While there, I decided to audition for ‘The X Factor’ for the third time once I got back. Fast-forward eight years and here I am!"
