Zendaya has social media conscious

Zendaya wants her social media posts to educate her fans about important issues.
The ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ actress has just got involved with her latest charity project by lending her support to QVC Presents ‘FFANY Shoes on Sale’ to raise money to for breast cancer research.
Zendaya has 6.93 million followers on Twitter and 33.4 million people checking out her Instagram posts and as much as she wants to have fun and post selfies she accepts she has a responsibility to use that huge audience to try and do some good.
In an interview with Footwear News, she said: "I take the job of being a role model very seriously. I just want to give young people a positive person to look up to. I want them to be honest, passionate and thoughtful humans. Of course social media is fun to post selfies. But I try to use it as a platform to talk about important issues that need light shed on them … Even my nieces – I look at them as little queens. I want them to grow up to rule their own kingdom. I’m very inspired by that."
The 20-year-old star felt compelled to get involved with QVC’s new breast cancer campaign because it is an illness that has affected her personally as her grandmother was diagnosed with the disease.
Zendaya – who has her Daya by Zendaya shoe and clothing brand with California-based Titan Industries – shared: "Breast cancer can affect so many women, and there’s not a lot of awareness. Young people especially don’t know the signs, so [supporting this cause] is definitely important to me since I have so many young women who are fans."
Zendaya is renowned for starring in Disney Channel sitcom ‘Shake It Up’ in which she played the role of Rocky Blue.
She had her big break in music when she signed a deal with Hollywood Records in 2012.
