Lesley Joseph leaves Strictly

Lesley Joseph has been voted off ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The ‘Bird of a Feather’ actress and her professional partner Anton du Beke were sent home by the judges on Sunday (2310.16) after failing to impress with their tango in the dance-off against Daisy Lowe and Aljaz Skorjanec, who had to do their Charleston again.
Craig Revel Horwood cast his vote first and chose to save Daisy and Aljaz, as did Darcey Bussell and Bruno Tonioli, meaning head judge Len Goodman didn’t have to choose either couple, but admitted he would have also opted to send Lesley and Anton home.
Explaining his choice, Craig said: "I love both couples for completely different reasons. But for me tonight, for precision, for an improved performance in this particular dance-off, and finishing on time, the couple I would like to save is Daisy and Aljaz."
Darcey also admitted it had been a "very difficult" choice, while Bruno opted to save Daisy and Aljaz because of their "stronger technique and performance".
Both Lesley, 71, and Anton, 50, had nothing but good things to say about one another and admitted they had adored working together.
Lesley said: "Learning a new dance every week has just been lovely, working with him has been an absolute joy and we’ve laughed a lot. And yeah it’s been just a lovely lovely lovely journey and it’s come to an end and that’s absolutely fine. We’ve loved it."
Emotional Anton added: "I would just like to say thank you very much, you enriched my whole Strictly experience this year. Dancing with you has been an absolute joy. You pushed me, I don’t know about me pushing you, you pushed me to try and be more creative and make the numbers better and that’s just down to you and you’re just an absolute joy. And I love you dearly."
