John Legend dishes out advice to The X Factor stars

John Legend has been dishing out advice to ‘The X Factor’ contestants.
The 37-year-old singer is performing his new single ‘Love Me Now’ on Sunday night’s (23.10.16) results show and dropped by the ITV studios on Friday (21.10.16) to share his tips with the finalists before they sing their hearts out at the weekend.
According to Digital Spy, he told the contestants: "When I first started I got rejected by every major record label, including the label I am signed to now.It took six years for me to get there. You just need to keep going."
The ‘Ordinary People’ hitmaker was impressed with the talent, who are in training for Divas Week, which sees Ryan Lawrie singing ‘Rolling in The Deep’, Gifty Louise taking on Sam Smith’s ‘Lay Me Down’, Honey G doing a mix of Queen’s ‘Under Pressure’ and Vanilla Ice’s ‘Ice, Ice Baby’, while 5 After Midnight will take on Amy Winehouse ‘Valerie’ and Four of Diamonds are doing ‘Lady Marmalade’ and ‘Bang Bang’ by Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj.
After seeing a taster of the acts doing their covers, John said: "There’s some really talented singers, some good variety in the styles. I had fun meeting everybody today and hearing them up close and personal."
The hunky pop star has tipped Four of Diamonds to do well and said Matt Terry and Relley C need to improve.
He said: "I really liked Four Of Diamonds, I really thought they were wonderful. And Gifty [Louise] was great – she had such good energy.
"I think both Matt [Terry] and Relley C can be better than they were today – they are both really talented."
Meanwhile, pop rock trio Busted – Matt Willis, Charlie Simpson and James Bourne – are to make an appearance performing their brand new single ‘Easy’ on the show on Sunday (23.10.16) along with John.
‘The X Factor’ continues on Saturday (22.10.16) on ITV from 8.00pm.
