Stephanie Davis doesn’t think Jeremy McConnell "deserves" to be at the birth of their baby next year.
The 23-year-old actress has claimed she’s reached out to her ex-boyfriend – who she met in the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house in January – on numerous occasions since they split up in May but, with no avail, she’s now had enough and doesn’t want the heavily-inked Irish hunk to have anything to do with their little son.
She explained: "He doesn’t deserve to be there [at the birth]. I don’t think he wants to be there either. I don’t think I could ever forgive him for how he’s been. I used to send him scan photos but he doesn’t care and he never has. It’s just me and my son now. I never thought he’d be that type of guy."
Although she doesn’t want the 26-year-old star present when her little one – who is due in January – enters the world, the former ‘Hollyoaks’ beauty feels guilty that her child will have to grow up without a father figure in his life.
Speaking to OK! magazine, she said: "I really did love Jez and I tried to reach out so he wouldn’t regret missing out with his son. That kills me. But I can give our son the life Jez never had and hope that he’ll be a better person. It’s easier to let go of Jeremy because I’ve still got part of him with me in our son. It’s heartbreaking because I feel like I’ve let my baby down because I couldn’t give him both parents."
Despite her turbulent relationship with Jeremy, which saw him cheat on her numerous times, Stephanie hasn’t been put off finding love but doesn’t want to rush anything.
She explained: "At the moment I’m keeping my options open and I haven’t met anyone I’m ready to tell the world about yet … I’m not going to introduce a boyfriend to the public until I’ve been seeing him for a while. I’d want to know it’s true love and that it’s right for my son. Hopefully I’ll find someone who loves my son like he’s his own."
And Stephanie may not have to wait too long to find her new lover as a psychic she met in Tenerife recently has told her that she’ll be engaged by the end of 2018.
She said: "She also said the baby will have fair hair and I’m going to meet someone next year, but right now it’s all about me and my baby. She said I’ll have a ring on my finger by the end of 2018 and the person will be someone I’ve never met. I’ve been looking at the bin men and the window cleaners thinking, ‘Is it you?’ "
