Prince William to help veterans

Prince William will help provide employment opportunities for military veterans.
The 34-year-old royal will attend a programme in Basingtoke, Hampshire, southern England, on October 12th as part of the Step into Health programme.
A message on the Kensington Palace Twitter account read: "The Duke of Cambridge will carry out engagements on 12th October focusing on work to provide employment opportunities for military veterans."
Step into Health provides work experience packages of up to four weeks to help veterans explore the career opportunities available to them.
It won’t be the first time William – who has kids, Prince George, three, and 17-month-old Princess Charlotte with wife Duchess Catherine – has helped out veterans.
In September 2015, he, along with Prince Harry, helped to build homes for ex-Army staff on the BBC’s DIY SOS show for a ‘The Big Build: Veteran’s Special’ programme.
Many of Britain’s homeless people are war veterans and William and Harry’s involvement in the project – for which eight buildings and a total of 62 homes for ex-military personnel were built – helped to put the spotlight on finding a solution to the issue.
What’s more, William and Catherine opened their tour of Canada last month at British Columbia’s Parliament Buildings by paying respects at Victoria’s Cenotaph and unveiling a new plaque paying tribute to the veterans of Canada’s involvement in the Afghanistan conflict.
