Paul McCartney has ‘fun’ breaking the rules of songwriting

Sir Paul McCartney says he’s still writing songs with the same rule‑dodging, wide‑eyed mischief he had as a teenager.

Alesha Dixon is ‘gutted’ Louis Walsh didn’t take Skarl3t and Four of Diamonds to live shows

Alesha Dixon is "gutted" Louis Walsh didn’t take Skarl3t and Four of Diamonds through to ‘The X Factor’ live shows.
The 37-year-old singer songwriter – who joined the Irish ‘The X Factor’ judge at his home in Ibiza, Spain, on Saturday’s episode (01.10.16) – has admitted she had "fun" accompanying the music mogul in the decision-making process but was left bitterly disappointed when Louis decided to ditch the two girl bands in favour of The Brooks, 5AM and Ottavio & Bradley.
The brunette beauty – who made up one third of the band Mis-Teeq – tweeted: "Well that was fun! But I am gutted, I was really rooting for the 2 girl groups! (sic)."
However, the ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge wasn’t the only one to be left saddened by last night’s result, as Simon Cowell – who was joined by Spice Girls Mel B and Emma Bunton in Malibu to whittle down his Girls category – shattered the dreams of young hopefuls Soheila Clifford, Olivia Garcia, Kayleigh Marie Morgan and previous favourite Caitlyn Vanbeck, who forgot her words during her performance.
And former Pussycat Dolls band member Nicole Scherzinger – who has been allocated the Boys to mentor this series – has admitted she is "dreading" having to make the cut-throat decision on Sunday’s episode (02.10.16).
Speaking previously about the judges’ houses round, the ‘Right There’ hitmaker – who will be joined in France by Scottish DJ Calvin Harris as she attempts to choose her final three – said: "This is my least favourite part. This is where I forget the gorgeous view and I’m dreading having to send more than half of my boys home."
And Nicole has revealed she feels threatened by red-headed "Mrs O", who will be selecting her three from the Overs category tonight.
She explained: "My strongest competition is Mrs O’s category, which is the Overs – they have some really strong, heavy hitters and big voices. People who are really experienced.
"[But] I definitely think I could possibly have the winner here!"
