Paul Hollywood to host Top Gear?

Paul Hollywood is reportedly in talks to host ‘Top Gear’.
The 50-year-old baker has been a judge on the BAFTA-winning ‘Great British Bake Off’ since it hit screens in 2010 but, with the recent news that the show is to move to Channel 4 next year, the BBC are keen to keep the silverfox and are toying with the idea of giving him a gig on the motoring series, according to the Daily Telegraph newspaper.
If Paul accepts the deal, he’ll replace Chris Evans – who quit the programme earlier this year just eight months into his three-year deal following a plunge in ratings – as the main host.
Although the baker’s main love lies within the kitchen, viewers will no doubt be surprised to hear that Paul is actually a self-confessed petrol-head and owns two Aston Martins.
He’s also no stranger to the motoring world as he once hosted a special one-off show for the BBC called ‘License to Thrill’.
The chef even started taking part in amateur racing in 2015 when he made his debut in the Beechdean AMR Aston Martin Vantage GT4.
The news of a possible move for the star comes after it was announced that Love Productions – who produce ‘Great British Bake Off’ – had signed a three-year deal, worth £75 million, to move the show from the BBC to its rival Channel 4.
Presenters Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins have already stepped down from their roles as a result of the move, and although it is believed they will follow suit, neither Paul nor his co-judge Mary Berry have announced their plans as of yet.
A source said previously: "Mary and Paul have always stressed they would stand by Mel and Sue as they see them as family. They spend a huge amount of time together over the course of filming, and outside that as well."
