McFly to start new album in January

McFly have confirmed they will begin their sixth album in January 2017.
The ‘All About You’ hitmakers recently revealed they scrapped two entire albums worth of material, but now singer Tom Fletcher has said he sees the record containing completely new material despite having songs laying around.
Asked when to expect their follow-up to 2010’s ‘Above The Noise’, He said: "New year, new album. We’ll start writing [in January].
"We’ve got album songs that could be ready to go, we don’t want to take away that exciting part of being in a band.
"[But album six] was natural, it didn’t sound anything like ‘Above The Noise’ … We recorded it live as much as possible, in one take… I imagine the next album will be mostly new songs."
However, one of the tracks that will be featured on the new record will be familiar to fans.
Drummer Harry Judd has revealed ‘Getting It Out’, from Busted/McFly supergroup McBusted’s 2014 self-titled LP, will be on the new album.
He added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "One of the songs from album six ended up on the McBusted album, which was ‘Getting It Out’. We recorded it in Texas but then recorded it for the McBusted album."
The 30-year-old sticksman recently admitted that McFly fans "hated" McBusted – which was comprised of Busted’s Matt Willis and James Bourne and himself, Tom, Dougie Poynter and Danny Jones.
Harry says they are keen to get new music out because their fans were "frustrated" with the ‘Air Guitar’ band.
He said: "It’s been a while since we have just been McFly and a lot of our fans are frustrated.
"Although McBusted has been a success, a lot of McFly fans were like, ‘I hate McBusted!’"
