Lydia Bright suffers fish hook injury

Lydia Bright suffered an "excruciating" fish hook injury on ‘The Island’.
The 26-year-old TV personality was taking part in the special celebrity edition of the survival show in aid of the charitable program ‘Stand Up To Cancer’ when the metal item got stuck in her arm.
Speaking to Digital Spy, the star said: "It went though a joint. When it actually went in, it was painful, don’t get me wrong, but all I was panicking about was that the way that it comes out is you have to re-pierce it out the other way.
"Dr Dawn [Harper] was trying to tug at it to push it through, but it had gone through a joint so it was so tough – she was trying to push for ages. It was excruciating."
The ‘Only Way Is Essex’ star also admitted the worst part of the show – which sees survivalist Bear Grylls abandon 13 people on a remote, uninhabited island for a whole month – came after her injury when the medication had started to wear off.
She said: "The next day, the pain was hitting in, my arm was all tingly. All the drugs were wearing off and I was just like, ‘I think I’ve got to go home’. That was when I found it really tough, the last little stretch. And I couldn’t really do much afterwards – my finger was bandaged up and it was so painful I couldn’t really lift a lot so I had to stay in camp a lot more."
Once the wound was healed, however, Lydia decided that instead of forgetting the whole ordeal she wanted to remember it forever, so she got a tattoo of a fish hook on her finger.
She said: "As soon as my scar healed I was in Indonesia and I was like, ‘I’m going to do something really rock and roll and I’m going to go and get a tattoo’. And it’s a really dodgy tattoo! I think where I got it probably wasn’t the best tattoo parlour, but I love it because it’s got a little story and I love it when people look at it."
