Prince Charles visit Edible Garden Show

Britain’s Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla are to make an appearance at the Edible Garden Show next week.

The royal couple – who got married in 2005 – are set to attend the event, which lasts three days, and is held at Alexandra Palace in London to promote healthy eating.

Charles, 65, who is a keen gardener, will greet children from across the country, who have taken part in the national schools’ initiative to design a "dream edible garden".

The event will have a number of celebrity speakers, interactive advice sessions, cookery lessons, and a range of produce available to ensure everyone is getting a taste of the good life.

The Edible Garden Show, which was launched in response to the grow-your-own revolution, has been running for four years, but this will be the first time it is being held at Alexandra Palace.

Meanwhile, the prince has devoted 30 years to overseeing the greenery at Highgrove Gardens in Gloucestershire, England, and runs his own competition named Mygrove, where youngsters can win a trip to the garden.

The duke is also a campaigner for wildlife and his charity, Prince Charles’ Countryside Fund, recently donated £50,000 from its emergency fund to help farmers in Somerset following the recent flooding, which destroyed many homes.

The Edible Garden Show takes place from 28 March – 30 March.
