Tulisa lifts the lid on her ‘blackout period’

Tulisa suffered a "blackout period" in her life after the release of her sex tape and a drink driving conviction.
The 28-year-old singer starred in a six-minute sex video with her former lover Justin Edwards, which leaked online in 2012, and admitted to drunk driving in March this year – but Tulisa has insisted she has bounced back after relaunching her career as a solo artist.
The former N-Dubz star reflected: "I call it the blackout period. It’s just something that is part of the journey, part of life, made me into who I am."
The ‘Young’ hitmaker regrets making the sex tape with her former boyfriend, admitting she made the mistake of trusting the wrong person.
Tulisa told ITV’s ‘Good Morning Britain’: "I wasn’t actually that famous at the time, to be fair, and obviously you are in a relationship with some for two years, you trust them."
Meanwhile, Tulisa was arrested in September 2015 on suspicion of drunk driving after she was involved in a crash outside a London train station and was subsequently banned from driving for 15 months and fined £1,185.
But in that instance, the chart-topping star conceded she was entirely at fault.
Tulisa explained: "Yes I’ve made a mistake, I openly admit that, I messed up and I’ve paid the price."
Despite her recent troubles, Tulisa insisted she has learnt some valuable lessons which will help her to make better decisions in the future.
She shared: "I think hard times either bring out the best in you or the worst, and I think I’ve luckily managed to bring out all the positives in myself."
In particular, Tulisa revealed her personal difficulties have taught her that "everyone is a product of their own environment".
