Matt Edmondson welcomes baby girl

Matt Edmondson has become a father.
The ‘Xtra Factor’ presenter took to Twitter on Sunday (04.09.16) to reveal that his wife Bryony Emmett had given birth, after he missed Saturday’s (03.09.16) show when she went into labour.
He wrote: "Okay, so I was hoping to fly under the radar with this one, but … I’ve had a baby! A really cute one. We always had a 2 in 7 chance that she’d arrive on a day where there was an Xtra Factor Live… What I didn’t expect was for her to hatch her escape plan three weeks early and 2 hours before the live show! I am so, so unbelievably excited about being a dad and Bryony did the most amazing job ever.
"We had a very peaceful, beautiful home birth with the help of Neighbourhood Midwives (who are worth their weight in gold – seriously!) and we are so happy with our little, very little in fact, girl. Anyhow, thanks to Rylan for flying solo (and crying at the news in his dressing room when I told him!) and thank to all of you who sent me kind messages. You guys are great.
"A very sleepy Matt. X (sic)."
Matt was absent from Saturday’s show, which was hosted by his co-star Rylan – who explained that Matt had dashed off to be with his wife.
He said: "Before we go on you are probably wondering where my lovely Matt is.
"Well I am so excited to announce that his lovely wife has literally just gone into labour so obviously he has dashed off to be with her. We just want to send our best of luck!"
A tweet on the ‘X Factor’ account read: "WATERS-BREAKING NEWS: @MattEdmondson is excused from tonight’s #XtraFactorLive because his wife has gone into labour. Good luck, guys!"
Matt – who married Bryony in 2013 – tweeted an embarrassed face and baby emoji.
