Anastacia to donate Strictly Come Dancing fee to cancer charity

Anastacia has announced she is to donate her ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ fee to a cancer charity.
The 47-year-old singer is one of 15 celebrities taking part in the new series of the BBC One ballroom dance show, which begins on Saturday (3.09.16).
Anastacia was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003 and in 2013 the disease returned in a more aggressive form resulting in her having a double mastectomy operation and in 2014 she announced she was cancer-free.
The ‘Left Outside Alone’ hitmaker made the decision to give her earnings to charity because she wants to find a "cure" for the killer illness.
In an interview on BBC News, she said: "I want to give as much as I can back to the women and to a cure and make a difference".
Anastacia is also going to ask her wealthy friends to match her fee for charity.
She added: "I’m going to try to ask as many of my mates that might have a couple of extra dollars to match what I make. So whatever I end up making I just want them to match it."
Anastacia – who performed her debut 2000 single ‘I’m Outta Love’ on the ‘Strictly…’ Blackpool special last year – has not revealed how much her fee is worth or which breast cancer charity it will go to.
The American star will be joined on ‘Strictly…’ by the likes of Will Young, BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty, Judge Rinder, Lesley Joseph and Daisy Lowe among others who all will be competing for the Mirrorball trophy.
On Saturday viewers will find out which professional dancers the celebrities have been paired with.
