Chase and Status to perform at MOBO Awards

Chase & Status are the first performers to be announced for this year’s MOBO Awards.
The electronic music duo – Saul Milton and Will Kannard – have been confirmed to be taking to the stage at the 21st ceremony, which is being held on November 4 at The SSE Hydro Arena in Glasgow, Scotland.
Speaking about the gig, they said: "The MOBOs are a real institution and we’re looking forward to bringing our live show and some very special guests to the stage."
The duo have released three studio albums since they formed in 2003 and have collaborated with some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Plan B, Cee Lo Green, Rihanna, Example and Tinie Tempah, so all eyes will be on which special guests they decide to include in their music set.
It will be the fourth year that MOBOs have been held in the city, following its first visit in 2009.
Kanya King MBE, founder and CEO of the MOBO organisation, said: "This is only the beginning of our 21st anniversary celebration – we are preparing for a most memorable evening with the best talent and inspirational guests to continue our work started 21 years ago supporting diversity and inclusion. We have some great new initiatives on the way; it’s all very exciting."
The show will be broadcast live on ITV2 with a repeat on ITV.
Paul Bush OBE, VisitScotland’s director of events, added: "The return of the MOBO Awards will once again demonstrate Scotland’s capacity as the perfect stage for events, utilising one of our finest venues, The SSE Hydro, and reaching an audience of millions around the world."
The MOBO Awards 2016 – which celebrate music of black origin – is supported by EventScotland, Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, the Scottish Government and Scottish Enterprise.
