Hailey Baldwin has a huge crush on John Mayer.
The 19-year-old model – who has been romantically linked to her friend Justin Bieber, who is now dating Sofia Richie – is "obsessed with the American singer/songwriter and listens to his music all the time.
Hailey had the chance to meet John – whose exes include Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry – but she was too nervous to even speak to him.
In an interview with the new issue of ES Magazine, she said: "I am obsessed with John Mayer. I love him. I just think he’s so talented. I have his documentary in my iTunes. I watch it all the time. I know his album ‘Continuum’ start to finish, every word."
Recalling how she once met him while having dinner in Los Angeles, she added: "I was at dinner with Hailee Steinfeld at The Nice Guy – which is so bouji and sceney, but they have a phenomenal kale salad – and he pulled Hailee aside to say he’d heard her song and thought her lyrics were awesome. I was digging my nails into her arm, like, ‘Oh my goodness, John Mayer told you your music is great?’ I was tripping!"
Hailey is currently single and she intends to lay off guys for a while and focus on her fashion career, which is going from strength-to-strength.
The beautiful blonde said: "I’m not dating anybody right now. It’s not on the cards for me. I’m just trying to handle myself, this lifestyle, this job, the travelling. So the thought of having to be responsible for someone else’s feelings? I don’t know if I’d be able to."
Hailey’s father is actor Stephen Baldwin and her mother is Kennya Deodato-Baldwin, while her uncles are Alec Baldwin, Daniel Baldwin,
and William Baldwin and her cousin is Ireland Baldwin.
Despite having a famous family and having access to Hollywood, Hailey insists her parents kept her away from the showbiz world, and it’s something she is grateful for.
She explained: "When I have kids, they will not grow up around all this. It’s so easy to become spoiled and pretentious and to have the wrong attitude. You have money and access to things the average person doesn’t, and you’re constantly surrounded by people trying to kiss your ass."
