Colton Haynes cast in Rock That Body

Colton Haynes has joined ‘Rock That Body’.
The ‘Arrow’ star has been cast in the R-rated comedy alongside a star-studded line-up which includes Scarlett Johansson, Kate McKinnon, Zoe Kravitz, Jillian Bell and Ilana Glazer.
Colton is the latest addition to the female-driven project from Sony Pictures along with Demi Moore and Ty Burrell.
Lucia Aniello is on board to direct and she has also co-written the script with Paul W. Downs.
The film’s plot follows five female friends who rent a beach house in Miami for a bachelorette party that results in them accidentally killing a male stripper.
Originally, the movie was to be titled ‘Move That Body’ before getting a name change.
Shooting on the project is already underway with a June 2017 release date scheduled.
As well as playing Arsenal in ‘Arrow’, Haynes is best known for his role as Jackson Whittemore in MTV series ‘Teen Wolf’.
The 28-year-old actor will soon be seen in Fox’s upcoming comedy/horror TV show ‘Scream Queens’.
Haynes recently opened up about his difficult journey coming out as homosexual at 14 with his mother Dana refusing to accept his sexuality and him being told that his estranged father committed suicide because he couldn’t cope with having a gay son.
In a frank interview with OUT magazine, Haynes – who fled his Kansas home due to the reaction to his sexuality at home and at school – said: "I’m the last person in the world who would say, ‘Oh, my dad – pity me.
"But I was told that my dad killed himself because he found out I was gay. So, of course, I lost it and was like, ‘How could you say something like that?’ And no one will ever really know the truth.
"But my brother and my mom went to pick up my dad’s stuff, and the only picture on his fridge was my eighth-grade graduation picture. So I was just like, f**k."
Haynes eventually moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career but was advised by his management to conceal his sexuality as he was told it would hinder his work opportunities.
He said: "I feel really bad that I had to lie for so long. But I was told that was the only way I was going to be successful.
"When you’re young in this industry, people take advantage of you, and they literally tell you that your dreams are going to come true. If you believe that, you’ll do anything. And you do believe it, especially if you’re from Kansas."
