James ‘Lockie’ Lock and Danielle Armstrong have split up.
The on/off couple – who rekindled their romance just before the summer after the hunk cleaned up his act – have decided to end their turbulent relationship for the second time.
Taking to her Twitter account on Monday (29.08.16), the blonde bombshell uploaded a picture quote, which read: "She loved him and he loved her but it wasn’t that simple."
She accompanied it with the caption: "For everyone that keeps asking about me & James this quote pretty much sums us up I’m afraid & it’s time to move on (sic)."
The 28-year-old beauty sparked rumours their romance had hit the rocks in the series finale of ‘The Only Way is Essex’ when she told her friends that she didn’t know if Lockie was right for her any more.
After the show concluded for the summer a few weeks ago, Danielle jetted off to Ibiza, Spain, with her friend Katie Wright, who split from her on/off beau Dan Edgar, for a girly holiday.
Meanwhile, Danielle’s decision to call time on her relationship with Lockie won’t come as too much of a surprise to fans as he admitted earlier this year that their romance was on a "trial."
He said: "Nothing is set in stone but we both want to make it work. Danielle has put me on a bit of a trial, so it’s up to me now to prove how much I love her.
"A lot of the problems we had before were down to the fact my life wasn’t going in the direction I wanted.
"I was enjoying being on ‘TOWIE’ but I wanted something else to focus on, too. Over the past few months I feel like I’ve really grown up and I’ve taken steps to better myself and I think Danielle appreciates that."
