Natalie Portman can’t let kids watch her in Star Wars

Natalie Portman won’t let her child watch her in the ‘Star Wars’ prequel trilogy.
The 35-year-old actress, who has five-year-old son Aleph with husband Benjamin Millepied, 39, has to protect the little boy from seeing her play Padmé Amidala in the franchise because the character eventually dies and it would be too upsetting for him.
Natalie said: "He has not [seen me in ‘Star Wars’] but he knows about it, of course. Yeah, it’s kind of a shame, because when I made it I was like, ‘This is going to be the coolest thing one day when I have kids, I can show them.’ And boys, of course, are obsessed with it and know all about it before they’ve seen it. Then I realized, I die in the movies. So I feel like it’s kind of a scary thing to show your kid."
Meanwhile, the brunette beauty was interviewed on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ for her new movie ‘A Tale of Love and Darkness’ and said after living in Paris for filming, she realised how friendly people are in the states.
The Oscar-winning actress – who was born in Israel and grew up in Syosset, Long Island – explained: "I got here and I was so surprised when you get in an elevator and someone starts a conversation … or someone would smile at my child."
She added: "There’s a lot of rules of politeness and codes of behaviour (in Paris) that you have to follow. When you go in some place, you have to say ‘Bonjour’ before you say anything else, and then you have to wait two seconds before you say anything else. If you don’t follow this protocol, they’ll think you’re super rude and then they’ll be rude to you."
