Dolly Parton won’t stay in hotels on tour

Dolly Parton doesn’t use hotels when she’s on tour as her luxury bus "has everything".
The ‘Jolene’ hitmaker always stays on her bus when she is on the road because she hates packing and unpacking all of her clothes and home comforts.
Speaking on UK TV show ‘This Morning’, Dolly – who is currently on her ‘Pure & Simple Tour’ in support of her 43rd studio album of the same name – explained: "I live on my tour bus. Well it’s great, it’s got everything. There’s a place for all my show wigs of course. On the other side I’ve got room for my show clothes, and I have my kitchen. It is a home. I don’t like moving, I never stay in a hotel."
The country singer went on to explain that keeping your tour bus as your base is a really practical option when touring.
She said: "We just pull right up to the stage door pull on up and do our show get back on and I go to bed. And roll over to the next show."
Despite her glamorous appearance Dolly is evidently full of practical solutions when she’s out of reach of her creature comforts – even when it comes to writing songs.
When she was asked how she copes if a song comes to her and she’s without her guitar, Dolly explained: "I just get on these fingernails of mine. You gotta have acrylic nails."
The 70-year-old music legend – who this year celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary to husband Carl Dean – even used the unusual technique to pen one of her most famous ever songs.
She added: "That’s how I wrote ‘9 to 5’ too you know. Now I got a glaze on here that’s keeping the sound down, but these are great instruments."
